IBA International Book Awards

Local South Park Author and Photographer Bernie Nagy previously received Colorado’s “The Flume” People’s Choice Awards for the Best Local Author and Photographer and the Colorado Independent Publishers’ Award for Best Travel Book, and winner for outstanding achievement in Cover Design and Illustrations.

No, the book is not about the animated TV series characters. Welcome to the “real” South Park, a high grassland basin surrounded by mountain ridges. It is the epitome of all things Colorado, with 14,000-foot peaks, grand vistas, lush prairies, mining and railroad history, and abundant wildlife. South Park has it all! “The response to the book has been so great that within a few months, a second slightly revised edition was sent to the printer and will be available by July, 2010. “I hope the book will bring additional visitors to this beautiful part of Colorado”, Bernie Nagy with High Country Artworks in Fairplay, Colorado said.

Nagy was so impressed with the beauty surrounding his new residence in South Park that he took photographs for a period of three years, often journeying to more remote locations that could only be reached by hiking or by four-wheel-drive vehicle. His dynamic pictures not only document the beauty of South Park’s scenery but also events, people, history and the wide variety of natural habitats.

“This book was a labor of love, and I hope it inspires others to go out in nature, visit God’s country and enjoy the wonderful land that we have inherited from those who came before us and who created its rich history,” Nagy added.

Nagy published also a stunning 2011 Photo Calendar of South Park with breathtaking pictures for $9.95 that is available along with the 11”x 8.5” hardbound embossed SOUTH PARK Book for $29.95.
